Parks Not Dumps #2

We are at day 31 of the Toronto Garbage strike and the temporary dump site in my neighborhood has the community seeing red. The message is the same as Christie Pits, Parks Not Dumps but it’s my observation that our dump  site is more dangerous and not because of the garbage. As a cyclist I use Campbell Ave (where the dump is located) to get to and from downtown  and I have been run off the road every time by someone in a rush to dump their trash. It’s gotten so bad, the street is now one way going South from the dump, (oddly enough the top of the street is 2 way).

Yesterday while returning from buying coffee beans at my neighborhood cafe, a mini van raced down the middle of Campbell Ave with the back hatch open because of 3 bags of trash. Trust me, the driver didn’t give a S**T about a cyclist who had to hide between idling cars.
